Whlist visiting a pre-warp civilization the guest star encounters Commander Shran which is in fact not what it seems and which breaks the warp engines but their opponent turns out to be weak and vulnerable to a good talking to and so Archer throws his morality out the window and their opponent leaves, which means everything turns out okay, and the Enterprise is saved in the nick of time. Then, finally Trip says something smug and they leave at warp factor two.
