Whlist on a mission for Admiral Forrest the guest star encounters a computer generated menace which is in fact from the future and which sends over a boarding party to battle the crew in the ship's corridors but their opponent turns out to be misled and vulnerable to a cunning bluff and so Archer throws his morality out the window and their opponent leaves, which means everything turns out okay, though Archer feels some guilt about his actions. Then, finally Archer says something smug and they leave at warp factor three.
