Whlist investigating a distress signal Captain Picard gets brainwashed when the Enterprise encounters a horde of microscopic things which tries to destroy them and puts them in a terrible ethical dilemma so they ask nicely and work out a cunning bluff and so the guest star dies a heroic death, which means everything turns out okay, and Data learns a little more about the human condition. Then, finally Troi says something cliche and they leave at warp factor two.
