Whlist visiting a colony the crew of the Enterprise-D is put on trial when the Enterprise encounters a character we never wanted to see again which is in fact not what it seems—as well as a horde of microscopic things which tries to destroy them and reprograms Data so they ask nicely and so the guest star dies a heroic death, which means everything turns out okay, and the planet is saved in the nick of time. Then, finally Data says something smug and they leave at warp factor three.
